Inspired by Love of North Florida, Inc. (IBL) based in Tallahassee, Florida is a 501(c) (3) public charity recognized by the Internal Revenue Service incorporated in January 2006 with the Florida Department of State.
Our mission is to help build self-worth, providing a positive direction for inmates and giving them an opportunity to contribute to society. Our mission is to also provide assistance to the homeless and disadvantage youth throughout North Florida.
We’re committed to helping inmates in prison and ex-offenders re-entering the community. Our ministry program provides prison and jail inmates with visitations for spiritual counseling, Bible study, mail correspondence and some basic necessities, such as deodorant, shampoo, and lotion. Most people are not aware that inmates are not supplied with these personal hygiene items.
Artists in prison reproduce paintings and drawings from photos and have also created their own pen and ink drawings, landscapes, waterscapes, wood carvings, picture frames, and other creative art works. Any proceeds from art sales are used to buy art supplies and personal care items for inmates.
IBL also focuses heavily on community outreach by assisting the youth in positive programs in an effort to reduce crime and to ensure our young that they do not have to resort to crime. We encourage them to continue in their education develop positive outlooks for the future although many have been affected by family member’s incarceration. Our Annual Book Bag and School Supply Giveaway is one of our biggest and most enjoyable community outreach activities.
Inspired by Love of North Florida, Inc. takes pride in organizing and feeding the homeless in the park on the first Sunday of each month. At this time, we can fellowship and pray for our brothers and sisters in need, offer encouragement and warm meal. We are also able to provide small items such as socks and soap which are precious to this population.
Each Thursday, ministry members of Inspired by Love of North Florida, Inc. convene to hold Bible Teaching at Casa Calderon Senior Living Community in Tallahassee, FL. The residents faithfully attend and participate in Bible Teaching. We also provide and have dinner with the group. The simple kind act of sharing time and attention with the elderly is valuable to them and us.
